Frequently Asked Weird Plot Shit Questions
Frequently Asked Weird Plot Shit Questions
Q: What relation does this have with the events of Homestuck?
A: Absolutely none. Overstuck occurs in an entirely different Incipisphere (obviously) with no connection to the events occurring in canon.
Q: So then, how far are we deviating from canon?
A: Decently.
Q: Be specific you bastard.
A: Ok, there are a few fairly-large shifts from canon and a large number of inconsequential extrapolations.
Q: =====>
A: Oh don't pull that on me.
...Fine, you win.
Overstuck takes place in one of the first, or seed, universes in the multiverse (as indicated by the rarely-mentioned fact that the world lacks star signs). As such, several features are missing from the main game (such as First Guardians), as well as a glitch causing a group of trolls and a group of humans to connect in a daisy-chain. Due to the lack of a First Guardian to cause SBURB to be created, the game exists within a Bootstrap Paradox caused by Lucas sendificating his Wallet Modus containing the client and server discs back in time into his past self's pocket, where he uploaded the server disc into a torrent which was downloaded by all of the players. (Later shenanigans take place that retroactively installs the client on the players' computers.)
Q: So what does this mean for our heroes?
A: Not much, to be honest. The game exists, it's for the most part the same, and the end goal is still to create a new universe. For the rest of the Incipisphere however, it's a different story...
Q: What's the name of the "Jack" of the Overstuck session?
A: Just call him "The Messenger" for now.
A: Absolutely none. Overstuck occurs in an entirely different Incipisphere (obviously) with no connection to the events occurring in canon.

Re: Frequently Asked Weird Plot Shit Questions
Q: Is there actually a plot in place?
A: Yes, or at least the backbone of the RP's plotline. The characters decide just about everything, but I have a sequence of major events for the storyline set up.
Q: You do realize that nothing new happens in Paradox Space, right? It's the entire reason it's called "Paradox" Space. How then could Overstuck be one of the first universes?
A: Nothing new happens in Paradox Space, you're correct. Everything basically just exists, always has existed, and always will exist. Why then does that not apply to Overstuck's universe? If an entire tree of universes leads up to a single universe with no origin, then that's the very type of paradox facilitated by Paradox Space.
The paradox doesn't necessarily mean that the chain wraps around, the paradox means that the origin of all of those universes has no origin itself.
